The Letter Books of Edward Richards have recently been indexed and digitised with the support of the Heritage Council’s Community Heritage Grant Scheme 2021. Without this subvention the production of this important index would not have been possible. Great credit is also due to archivist Lesley Whiteside for her diligence at this task which was ‘hand done’ line by line; indexing software would have been exorbitantly expensive in this specific case. Over 4000 letters have now been digitised and listed.  This unique letter collection forms a rich resource of community heritage and will facilitate historical research of the period.
